On April 7th, 2018, Arts Visalia and the Visalia Art League present The Art Tour Express: Chartered Art Tours. Every spring and fall, Arts Visalia partners with the Visalia Art League in hosting chartered bus trips to museums, galleries, and other art-related destinations throughout California. It’s a great opportunity to share a museum experience with your fellow art lovers! Simply reserve your seat and leave the driving to us. Each trip features a new exciting California art locale. Your ticket purchase includes bus fair and museum admission. Refreshments and meals are on your own at planned stops along the way.
The next Bus Tour destination is the Huntington Library, Art Collections, and Botanical Gardens on Saturday, April 7th. The bus will depart from the Convention Center off of East Acequia Avenue in Visalia at 6:00 a.m. and will return to the same spot around 9:00 p.m. The ticket cost is $70 and includes bus fair and admission into the Huntington. The bus is also wheelchair accessible.
The Huntington is a collections-based research and educational institution. Located in San Marino, CA, these grounds are breathtaking to look at whether interested in fine art, architecture, nature, literature or science.
The Huntingtons, most know for the expansion of railway systems that span the country, bought the San Marino Ranch in 1903 which now is known as the Huntington. Together, they accumulated an extensive library, art and botanical collection that continue to grow and evolve.
If you have never been to the Huntington, the spring is the perfect time to go as the botanical collections are in bloom and the weather is phenomenal.
